Blog Hop, off a cliff.

New to blog life, I decided to check out some blog hops. These "hops" are apparently the place to be if you want your blog to have play dates with other blogs. Amiright? Networking. It's basic playground etiquette. I love that bloggers link up like this, because how else will the awesome find the awesome? I mean, it's a pretty big world wide web out here.

I quickly opened a search for blog hops. With no shortage of links, I found myself furiously clicking. That's when I started sensing a trend.

"Link up your family friendly posts."

"No vulgarity, please."

"Positive posts only."

Shit.

This is why no one can ever take me anywhere nice.

I'm not a pole dancer. Not anymore, anyway. The blog world is much like the playground. If you want to fit in, you have to play nicely. Blah, blah, blah. Can my rule breaking blog play with your mommy blog? Maybe you'd really like me. Maybe you'd pray for me. Or maybe you can meet me in the middle and I can be your guilty pleasure.

So I finally found this great group of ladies who didn't have ninety-nine rules for their link up. I'm going to do something I know how to do well; throw caution to the wind and just jump off the blog hop cliff.

If you know me, you know that there are two things I like to do on Tuesday....eat tacos & turn up. Without further ado:

Linking up with a whole gang of ladies for their Turn It Up Tuesdays blog hop today. I don't think there are any militant requirements but looking through the participants, I see a lot of you are crafty. Like, insanely crafty. You should be aware that I spray painted a rock, so try not to feel ultra intimidated by my skills.

Think I may be your cup of vodka? Drop me a comment & I'll head over to your side of the playground.

  1. So funny!!! I feel the same way. A black book blogger? I'm an outcast lol. Maybe we can start a band of misfits and have our own link up with absolutely no rules. Great post!! #turnituptuesdays

    1. Girl, let's do it! Now that you mention it, you are the first black book blogger I've ever "met." Now the bar has been set high. I like you already! :)

  2. Apparently the blog world has been taken over by soccer moms and Jesus freaks. Twerkin' at yoga all day on my side of the playground. Keep it up! #turnituptuesdays

  3. Love the post! And you are so right; the level of "craftiness" is insane. I try the random craft every so often, but not at the expert level of most other mommy bloggers. I am so not a soccer mom! No yoga either, although maybe I should give it a shot. #turnituptuesdays

    1. Thanks so much for stopping by! I'm by no means a yoga pro, but whatever keeps my blood pressure down & sanity in check these days lol!

  4. It's almost as if they think children will be reading the blog hops, I highly doubt it. It's the same thing with linking up blog comments, they say no adult content but we're all adults right? I'm not sure who they're trying to protect with these rules. Glad you found a blog hop that's more relaxed.
